Kayla

Blue Otters Teacher

With over a decade of early childhood experience as a teacher and administrator, Kayla is thrilled to return to the classroom this fall after staying home with her two young daughters. Kayla earned her Master of Science in Early Childhood General and Special Education from Bank Street College of Education, and spent the majority of her career thus far teaching 3’s and Pre-Kindergarten at independent schools in New York City. Most recently, she served as the Director of The Children’s Meetinghouse, a non-profit, Reggio-inspired early childhood program in Concord, MA. She also currently serves on the Board at her daughter’s cooperative preschool in Lexington, and believes wholeheartedly in the co-op model and its emphasis on community-building. Kayla is deeply inspired by young children and the natural, joyful, curious way they interact with the world. For Kayla, teaching young children is as remarkable as it is rewarding, and she is grateful for the opportunity to continue to do so at Newtowne! “Speak to your children as if they are the wisest, kindest, most beautiful and magical humans on earth, for what they believe is what they will become.” -Brooke Hampton
