Getting to know Newtowne

To begin, we invite you to take our virtual tour.  This introduction offers an inside look at the classrooms, programs, and daily life of the school. Watch to see how children grow through exploration, creativity, and collaboration — nurtured by a community that values relationships, curiosity, and joyful learning.

Newtowne School’s ‘Enrollment Season’ takes place from October through January. During these months, prospective families have both virtual and in-person opportunities to learn more about the school, including:

In-person school tours where prospective families can get a feel for our engaging learning spaces in action. Morning tours take place at 9AM and  are for adults only.  Space is limited to minimize disruption for students.

Register here for in-person tours!

Virtual chats with current parents where prospective families can learn more about what it is like to be part of a family cooperative.  ‘Meet-a-Parent’ virtual chats can be scheduled by emailing enrollment@newtowneschool.org.

Open house events where prospective students and their families can visit Newtowne and see school spaces without students in session and enjoy playful invitations in all classrooms as well as special programming for young children.  All are welcome at these events – pre-registration is not required!

Join us Sunday, January 11th, 3-5PM for a public family event with RainbowDance and opportunities to play with current teachers at Newtowne School!

Local school fairs where representatives from area preschools come together to share information about their programs in a trade-show format.

We’ll be at the Cambridge Preschool Program Enrollment Fair on Saturday, September 27, 2025 (10AM – 12PM). Families can enjoy crafts, magic, and activities for young children while meeting representatives from preschool programs across Cambridge. Click here for more details!

Virtual ‘Meet the Director’ information sessions offer prospective families the opportunity to hear the Executive Director talk about the school philosophy and core values to understand if the Newtowne School cooperative is a good fit for their family. These sessions are held in a ‘webinar’ format, with a question-and-answer period at the end.

Register here for a Meet-the-Director session!

If none of these opportunities work for your family, or you’re interested in opportunities to learn about Newtowne in the spring or summer months, email enrollment@newtowneschool.org with questions or to be added to our mailing list.

We also offer educator tours, host observations for higher education coursework, and have been a site for educational research. Additionally, we work with the practicum offices of several local teacher development departments and programs. If you’re an early childhood professional looking to visit Newtowne School or connect with our faculty during the academic year, please reach out to director@newtowneschool.org
